WASHINGTON & ASSOCIATES, INC. ANNOUNCES A STRATEGIC PLAN DESIGNED TO HELP SAVE THE LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC WORLD ORDER

Washington & Associates, Inc. (W&A) is an S Corporation engaged in implementing a strategic plan designed to help save liberal democracy worldwide.

Solon, Ohio/ August 26, 2019. W&A is a visionary company whose mission is to implement a strategic plan designed to help save the liberal democratic world order that was created after World War II.

Around the world, democracy (and capitalism) is in crisis. Democracy and capitalism have a major vulnerability; its reality does not match its rhetoric. Rather than being the guarantors of freedoms, equality, justice, fairness, and inclusion, democracy and capitalism have proven to be architects of oligarchy, corruption, inequality, partisanship, polarization, racism, sexism, xenophobia, and homophobia, etc., leading to anger at the political establishment and the popular belief in many countries that their political and economic systems are “rigged.” Opportunistic authoritarians are now trying to destroy the liberal democratic world order by “weaponizing” these vulnerabilities all the while claiming that “Liberalism is Obsolete” and “democracy is a lie.” Therefore, “democracy is “dead!”

While there is some veracity in the authoritarian characterization of democracy and capitalism, it does not have to be so. The key to saving the liberal democratic world order lies in solving democracy’s and capitalism’s problems in a manner that leads to “national unity.” This can only be done by reimaging and reinventing democracy itself and by redefining distributive justice in ways that comport with the principles of justice, fairness, and inclusion. W&A has developed a universally applicable strategic plan which solves these problems associated with democracy and capitalism. The solution is contained in a book entitled Ensuring Justice, Fairness, and Inclusion: Managing Equity in the 21st Century, written by Dr. Charles A. Washington, and in a series of five (5) white papers. The strategic plan operationalizes John B. Rawls’ seminal concept, “Justice as Fairness,” which can be used to solve the problems associated with democracy and capitalism. The strategic plan calls for the development and universal implementation of a management system called “Equity Management,” and a software system called the “Plato Management Information System.” Collectively these strategic plan elements are known as “Equity Management-Plato” and by the acronym “EM-P.” See the image below.

National unity in America is problematic, because of the conflicts between competing groups over contentious issues such as the following: “foreign election interference,” “national unity,” “reparations for slavery,” “white supremacy,” “affirmative action,” “inequality,” “oligarchy,” “immigration,” “partisanship,” etc. These conflicts yield irreconcilable zero-sum policy positions. Aside from being mutually exclusive, the positions held by the competing groups are generally unpopular, impractical, and/or unconstitutional. EM-P seeks to resolve these conflicts, create national unity, and promote social peace by developing a new social contract to which all can subscribe. The new social contract is intended to mitigate all the problems and positions cited above by offering compromise solutions that should appeal to all Americans.

Further, a recent study by the U.S. Pentagon correctly identified the nature of the problems facing the liberal democratic world order and what is necessary to save it. The report makes the following case: (1) national unity equals national security; (2) fixing democracy and capitalism is key, and (3) democracies need to craft a positive message to compete in the global war of ideas. Many multilateral organizations have come to the same conclusions as has the Pentagon, democracy-loving countries must formulate new strategies and unite in order to resist authoritarianism and save the liberal democratic world order. However, outside of W&A’s EM-P, there are no viable solutions for thwarting what could become a political and economic apocalypse.

EM-P is the only practical solution that can fulfill the Pentagon’s recommendations and meet the needs of individual countries and multilateral organizations seeking to save the liberal democratic world order. Therefore, W&A is issuing a clarion call to democracy-loving peoples everywhere, to read the book, study the strategic plan, and join the movement to help save the liberal democratic world order while it can yet be saved.

Pell's appeal pitted word of former choirboy against priest

Sep 21, 2019

CANBERRA, Australia — Cardinal George Pell's appeal against his convictions for child molestation was largely a question of who the jury should have believed, his accuser or a senior priest whose church role was likened to Pell's bodyguard. Pell's accuser was a 13-year-old choirboy when he alleged that he was abused by then-Melbourne Archbishop Pell at the city's St. Patrick's Cathedral in December 1996 and February 1997. Monsignor Charles Portelli was a master of ceremonies at the 11 a.m. Sunday Masses where the choir sang. A chorister in the 1990s, David Dearing, told police that Portelli, Pell's right-hand man, was...

Chinese pop stars publicly back Beijing on Hong Kong

Sep 21, 2019

HONG KONG — At least eight pop stars from mainland China and one each from Taiwan and Hong Kong are publicly stating their support for Beijing's one-China policy, eliciting a mixture of disappointment and understanding from fans. Many of the statements came after protesters opposed to Beijing's growing influence over semi-autonomous Hong Kong removed a Chinese flag and tossed it into Victoria Harbour earlier this month. Lay Zhang, Jackson Wang, Lai Kuan-lin and Victoria Song were among the K-pop singers who recently uploaded a Chinese flag and declared themselves as "one of 1.4 billion guardians of the Chinese flag" on...

The Latest: Concerts canceled over Hong Kong airport protest

Sep 21, 2019

HONG KONG — The Latest on Hong Kong protests (all times local): 7 p.m. At least three concerts by overseas performers have been canceled in Hong Kong as protesters forced the city's airport to suspend operations for a second day. K-pop star Kang Daniel and Scottish band CHVRCHES both announced Tuesday that they are calling off upcoming events. American singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin canceled an upcoming concert late Monday. Kang's management office said the cancellation of a fan meeting scheduled for Sunday was because of safety concerns related to the protests, while CHVRCHES blamed "unforeseen circumstances." The airport protests are the...

China bans movies, actors from prominent Taiwan film awards

Sep 21, 2019

BEIJING — China said Wednesday it was banning Chinese movies and actors from participating in Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards, one of the Asian film industry's most prestigious honors, as Beijing ramps up economic and political pressure on the island it claims as its own territory. The one-sentence announcement on the microblog of China Film News, a newspaper affiliated with government film regulator, gave no reason for the suspension, but it comes amid rising tensions over Taiwan's refusal to recognize being part of Chinese territory to eventually be brought under Beijing's rule. Even without the ban, Chinese artists might have found...

Li Peng, Chinese premier during Tiananmen crackdown, dies

Sep 21, 2019

BEIJING — Li Peng, a former hard-line Chinese premier best known for announcing martial law during the 1989 Tiananmen Square pro-democracy protests that ended with a bloody crackdown by troops, has died.
